Lawrence, Clooney Were Oscars Best Dressed, Says Facebook

Jennifer Lawrence and Anne Hathaway

If the Oscars are the Super Bowl of award season, then the fashion is the equivalent of the commercials. (It’s the best part that true fans watch for all night and comment about for the next few weeks.)

So needless to say, during Sunday night’s Oscars ceremony there was just as much rooting for celebs to show up looking drop dead gorgeous and dapper as there was rooting for them to take home a little gold buddy.

And these movie stars did not disappoint, bringing their A-game complete with a plethora of runway looks from A-list designers. And there’s no point in having a favorite if you can’t gab about it on Facebook.

So Facebook teamed up with InStyle, creating a Red Carpet Talk Meter, to measure just who everyone was buzzing about and found out which star deserved Best Dressed of the 85th Academy Awards.

Check out the findings below and see more results at InStyle.

  • 1. Jennifer Lawrence, Dior Haute Couture
  • 2. Anne Hathaway, Prada
  • 3. Adele, Jenny Packham

A poll of U.S. Facebook users showed that Jennifer Lawrence’s look didn’t just strike a chord with females. Male Facebook users also voted Lawrence best dressed. Ironically, though, Twitter users thought Jennifer Aniston outshone Lawrence, and voted Aniston the best dressed female of the evening for her Valentino look.

And while Hathaway’s Prada dress was second most buzzed about, her hair managed to nail first in Facebook hair chatter. The “long bangs and cool, tousled texture,” according to InStyle, couldn’t be beat by any of the other movie stars — but Charlize Theron’s rocker-chic pixie cut did come close.

Hathaway’s Tiffany & Co. backward draped necklace was also the most buzzed about jewelry choice for the night, followed by Adele in Van Cleef & Arpels.

Jennifer Lawrence’s dress is so very elegant, no wonder she fell “head over heels” in love with it. Don’t you and urjnasw xkfjjkn agree?

I don’t know about the author nor urjnasw xkfjjkn. But I totally agree with you Ms. Mach 😀
She looks absolutely wonderful in that Dior dress. No wonder she is the new face of Miss Dior 😉
And I also love Anne Hathaway in her Prada dress even though everybody said it’s a so-so one. Call me bias but I like her in that “business in front, party in the back” dress 😉
